Legendary bodybuilder Ronnie Coleman is often referred to as the "king" of modern bodybuilding. The bodybuilding champion built incredible dominance, winning the Mr. Olympia eight years in a row. Coleman has suffered multiple injuries throughout his career. In order to recover, he underwent surgery. However, due to medical negligence, some operations did not achieve the results he wanted.
Despite facing a serious injury that could keep him bedridden, Ronnie fought back and retained his top spot. Bodybuilding as a sport is very difficult because the body has to reach its limits. Some of his injuries still have a major impact on his body to this day.
The legendary bodybuilder (Ronnie Coleman) has been updating fans on his life on his Instagram account. Previously in 2018, he shared that his back surgery was a success. It was the tenth time doctors had operated on his back, repairing four broken screws. After the surgery, his road to recovery was long. He can only move around in a wheelchair. In addition, he underwent three more surgeries shortly after, bringing the total to 13.
Over time, he got back on his feet, but his mobility didn't return to its best. Recently, he shared a post on his official Instagram account telling fans that he was experimenting with a hyperbaric chamber in an attempt to maintain his lost mobility. He wrote under the post: "Yes, Buddy finally got a chance to sit in a hyperbaric chamber and it was an unforgettable experience. One day I will regain mobility. Perseverance is key. Those who give up never Will win. As long as I don't give up, I really have a chance."
Hyperbaric chambers are used for hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized environment. Hyperbaric chambers bring higher-than-normal levels of oxygen to the blood, transferring it directly to all damaged tissues, speeding up the healing process.
"As long as I have a plan, I have a chance. As long as I'm alive, I have a chance to survive and overcome this obstacle," the 58-year-old bodybuilding champion wrote.
