Comedian and classic car collector Jay Leno received hyperbaric treatment after suffering "severe burns" from a gasoline fire while repairing one of his cars on Saturday.
According to a video obtained by Inside Edition, the talk show host is seen in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, in which Reynolds is seen wearing a blue hospital gown, his hands are bandaged, and his left arm is almost wrapped around his elbow. .
Leno's doctor, Peter Grossman, told reporters that Leno had "severe burns to his face and hands and chest" as he worked under a car in Burbank on Saturday.
The comedian has undergone surgery since being hospitalized and plans to have another operation later this week. Raynaud's procedure was a "surgical excision and transplant."
Initially, Renault suffered 'severe second-degree burns', possibly third-degree burns in car fire
The hyperbaric chamber is supposed to decrease swelling, increase oxygenated blood flow, and reduce bacteria, Grossman explained.
Grossman told Inside Edition that the scars from Leno's severe burns are "visible for the foreseeable future," and that he hopes the scars will be small, or "may not be visible at all."
Doctors believe the comedian will return to work when he recovers, which is not expected to take several months.
